Our history

1986 – 2016: 30 Years Of London Tigers

Against the backdrop of racism and poverty in 80’s Church St, a group of volunteers, spearheaded by 18-years old Mesba Ahmed, created a football team for local Bangladeshi people who had no other opportunities

Now thirty years later, this initiative has flourished into the award-winning charity organisation that is London Tigers today.

Not only has the football team developed to semi-professional status, but the work has expanded beyond sports to support all disadvantaged communities in areas of health, employment support and training, community cohesion and safety, youth work and international development.

These are in line with the organisation’s vision for a world where every individual has the opportunity to fulfil their dreams, no matter their background.
