The London Tigers Cricket Club Achivements in 2024

The London Tigers Cricket Club, a key initiative of the London Tigers charity based in Spikes Bridge Park, Southall, harnesses the power of sports to engage and positively impact the local community, with a particular emphasis on hard-to-reach groups. Through its programs, the club promotes active participation in sports, encourages physical fitness, and enhances the well-being of young people and their families. As an ECB Club Mark Affiliated Club, it upholds high standards of governance and development within the sport.

The club actively engages over 400 individuals in recreational cricket, fielding 14 teams across both adult and youth categories. These teams compete in esteemed leagues and tournaments, including the Middlesex Cricket County League, the Middlesex Junior Cricket League, the Middlesex Youth Cup, the ECB/Middlesex 100 Balls Competitions, and the Middlesex Development League. Demonstrating remarkable success, the Adult Cricket First Team emerged as champions of the Middlesex Cricket County League Division 3 and secured promotion to Division 2. Meanwhile, the Second and Third Adult Teams maintained their positions in Division 4 of the Middlesex Cricket County League.

The youth teams have also achieved significant milestones, with the Under-12 and Under-17 teams being crowned champions of the Middlesex Junior Cricket League in 2024.

Reflecting the club’s commitment to diversity and talent development, several South Asian female youth players have been selected for county cricket, showcasing the inclusive nature of the club’s initiatives. Furthermore, the club’s outreach efforts extend to thousands within the local community through various events, tournaments, and festivals, fostering lasting connections and promoting wider participation in sports. Additionally, the club delivers structured cricket sessions across multiple schools within the borough, further expanding access to the sport.

The club also prioritizes the professional development of its coaching staff, with over 15 coaches having successfully attained their ECB Core and Foundation Certificates. This investment in coaching excellence ensures the delivery of high-quality training and mentorship, reinforcing the club’s dedication to fostering cricketing talent and promoting a culture of sporting excellence.
